According to a French Priest, the family name in France was Lemillere, with a grave accent on the last "e".

In the U.S. Census, during the 1800's and the early 1900's, the name was spelled LehMiller, so that's what I'm using here.

John LehMiller and his family, consisting of wife, Mary Ann Jannel, and 3 children came to America in 1834. In that same year he bought 56 acres and settled in Pike twp, Stark Co. Ohio.  He remained there until his death in 1849.  His wife also died there in 1882. They are both buried in Canton twp, Stark County. Ohio. The area in Europe they came from was Alsace en Lorraine, France and Wurttemberg, Germany, both at different times were ruled by France and/or Germany.

JOHN LEHMILLER was born 1786-1787 in Alsace-Lorraine, France/Germany and died May 12, 1849 at 63 yoa in Pike twp, Stark Co., Ohio.  He married MARY ANN JANNEL.  She was born 1804 in Württemberg and died 1882 in Pike twp, Stark Co., Ohio.  John and Mary are buried in St. Peters Cemetery, Stark Co., Canton, Ohio.
